Springboro High School is a comprehensive secondary school, in Springboro, Ohio with a total of over 2,000 students and 120 teachers. The student population has continued a steady trend of growth of 100 students per school year since the early 2000s. The ratio of males to females is 1:1, and the teacher to student ratio is 1:20. The Springboro Community City School District serves the City of Springboro and parts of Franklin Township, Clearcreek Township, Wayne Township, and Turtlecreek Township.
Springboro High School is the only public high school in the suburb of Springboro, population 18,500. It is the only high school in the Springboro Community City School District. Springboro High School is academically ranked excellent with distinction, the highest possible rating by the state of Ohio Department of Education on a yearly basis. SHS was established in 1893. In the 2011-12 school year SHS was honored as the top public high school in the Great Lakes Region and received the Blue Ribbon award of Excellence from the US Department of Education.
The current home of SHS has been open since August, 1998 with two new academic wings added on and opened in August, 2006. It is Springboros third building used as the high school within the past thirty years. The addition was $12 million, while the school was originally built for about $30 million.
